Nicolette Doherty is a graduate of the University of Kent, Canterbury, England and Georgetown University, Washington D.C, in the United States, where she obtained a BA in Law and a Masters Degree in International and Comparative Law.   She is a member of Middle Temple Inn of Court in London and is admitted to the Bar of England and Wales, Nigeria, and Antigua and Barbuda.  She is also a Solicitor of the Supreme Court of England and Wales and member of the Law Society and a member of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators in the United Kingdom.

Associate Counsel in the Vancouver law firm of Owen Bird Law Corporation. Specialize in civil litigation in corporate and commercial disputes, shareholders’ rights and directors’ duties, breach of fiduciary duty and trusts, professional negligence, partnership and real estate disputes, division of assets on marital breakdown with multi-jurisdiction assets, construction disputes and slander and libel. Have participated as panellist in Continuing Legal Education in B.C. with judges and other senior counsel.  Fluency in Cantonese.

Carol Lyons is a partner and co-chair of McMillan’s Financial Services Regulatory Group. She practices corporate and commercial law with an emphasis is on transactional work. She advises clients on establishing businesses in Canada, mergers and acquisitions, corporate reorganizations, formation of strategic alliances (including divestment/outsourcing of business functions) and contract procurement, including requests for proposals (RFPs).
