Mireille Buydens heads with Hans Dhondt the Intellectual Property and IT Practice at Janson Baugniet. She is particularly recognised for her expertise in the field of patents, trademarks and copyright with extensive experience in complex IP transactions.
She ranks amongst the leading IP lawyers in Belgium and she regularly acts for international chemical and oil companies, as well as major multinationals in the food sector. Mireille is highly regarded for her advice and is also well known for her litigating experience and skills.
Mireille is a professor at the University of Brussels, where she teaches IP law and information law. She is the author or co-author of several books on IP Mireille also teaches at the CEIPI (Centre d'Études Internationales de la Propriété Intellectuelle).
She has a law degree from the University of Brussels (ULB 1986) as well as a degree in economic law (ULB 1987) and a degree in philosophy (ULB 1988). She also holds a Ph.D. in law (ULB 1992) and a Ph.D. in philosophy (ULB 1994).
Mireille was admitted to the Brussels Bar in 1992 and to the Paris Bar in 2001. After practising within other large Brussels and US business law firms, she joined Janson Baugniet as a Partner in 2013.
