Louise Groom specialises in Cayman Islands law. She has a broad range of onshore and offshore experience and regularly advises local and international banking and commercial clients on Cayman Islands legal aspects of finance transactions (secured lending, asset finance, project finance, acquisition finance and structured finance) and corporate transactions (corporate restructurings and reorganizations, mergers and acquisitions, dispositions, strategic joint ventures, takeovers and stock exchange listings). Prior to joining Harneys in 2011, Louise worked as an associate with Walkers in its Cayman office for 3 years.
Before moving offshore, Louise worked with Clifford Chance for more than 7 years in its Singapore and London offices where she focused on advising international clients on multi-jurisdictional and cross-border acquisition, banking and project finance transactions. Louise also spent time on client secondment at Standard Chartered Bank in Singapore.
Whilst at University, Louise was awarded both the Cavendish Law Prize in 1997 for Law student of the year and the Linnells Law Prize in 1999 for obtaining the highest marks in the University in Law.
