Joanna is a partner in the Projects practice of Herbert Smith Freehills, currently based in Doha. Joanna has nearly twelve years' experience in doing business in the Middle East region, including in Qatar, Oman, United Arab Emirates, Iraq, Iran, Kuwait, Saudi Arabia and Bahrain.
Joanna has substantial experience in all aspects of the oil and gas chain, from negotiating upstream asset acquisition agreements, development and production sharing agreements and associated joint operating agreements, through to advising on joint venture arrangements, the marketing of specialist products, such as LNG and petrochemicals, and all types of commodity products. She also has a deep understanding of the power sector, having been involved in some of the world’s largest power projects.
Joanna also advises clients on all aspects of development initiatives designed to support large infrastructure projects, such as joint venture structures, business models and corporate governance.
Joanna is the Doha committee member for the Association of International Petroleum negotiators.
