Raisa has worked extensively in Queensland and NSW, as well as on claims in Victoria, the Australian Capital Territory and Western Australia.
She specialises in Professional Indemnity, including claims against valuers, financial planners, accountants, stockbrokers and mortgage brokers. Raisa also has significant experience in professional indemnity construction risks (engineers, builders, certifiers and architects).
Raisa’s expertise extends to Management Liability and D&O, particularly D&O defence and representation in regulatory investigations and prosecutions (ASIC, ATO and ACCC).
Heidi was admitted in the UK in 2005. In 2007 she moved to Australia to practice at a leading Australian law firm, before joining Wotton + Kearney in 2010. Heidi was promoted to the partnership in July 2014.
At Wotton + Kearney Heidi’s practice focuses on professional indemnity and Directors & Officers claims, with her core area of expertise being financial services litigation, in particular the defence of claims arising from allegedly negligent financial planning advice.
In addition to this busy practice, Heidi also heads up the firm’s pro bono and corporate social responsibility program, “Community Footprint”, which she was instrumental in establishing in 2012. This has involved Heidi in a variety of projects, ranging from representing asylum seekers in applications for judicial review to building houses for impoverished families in Cambodia. In recognition of her pro bono work, in 2014 Heidi was named the winner of the Lawyers Weekly “Women in Law Pro Bono Award”, having been a finalist for the inaugural award in 2013.
In October 2011, Raisa qualified as an Accredited Specialist in Commercial Litigation with the Law Society of New South Wales. She is a committee member of the Young Insurance Professionals Queensland branch.
