Alison heads the DWF Aviation team and has over 25 years' experience in aviation, asset finance and leasing, acting for operators, owners, financiers, lessors and lessees in relation to all aspects of the leasing, financing, acquisition and disposal of new and used large commercial jet aircraft, business jet aircraft and aircraft engines, including all commercial agreements relating to their operation.

 

Prior to joining DWF in January 2013, Alison was the Head of Aviation and Finance practice at Harbottle & Lewis LLP, acting for, among others, Virgin Atlantic Airways.

 

Alison has been consistently noted in the Aviation Finance and Leasing sections of leading UK legal directories, Chambers and Legal 500, as having an "exceptional knowledge of how the aviation industry works" and in Chambers UK as being a "good communicator" who offers "professional advice to others".  Alison is also profiled in Chambers: Women in Law.

 

Examples of Alison's work includes:

• Acted for airline in relation to:
• the purchase of 6 new commercial jet aircraft;
• an engine campaign for spare new engine stock and through life care arrangements for new commercial jet aircraft engines;
• the novation and restructuring of commercial aircraft leases and sale and leaseback arrangement for commercial jet engines.
• Acted for start-up business jet charter operator in the purchase of 18 new business jets.
• Acted for ultra high net worth individual in the purchase of a pre-owned business jet including the ongoing operating arrangements.

 

Alison also has experience of the acquisition, disposal, financing and leasing of other moveable assets, such as luxury and racing yachts, computers, mobile cranes and vehicle fleets.

 

Alison has a Certificate in Air Law from University College, London and sits on the Air Transport Committee of the Royal Aeronautical Society.  Alison is a Friend of The Imperial War Museum at Duxford, housing the Imperial War Museum's collection of preserved aircraft.  Alison is a member of the City of London Solicitors' Company and is also a member of the Aviation Club of Great Britain.

 

Alison also supports the work of the British Association of Adoption and Fostering ("BAAF") as a committee member of Bag Ladies.  Bag Ladies organise an annual fundraising event for BAAF.
