Dr Tatjana Mühlbach is a partner in the law firm BUNTSCHECK Rechtsanwaltsgesellschaft mbH.
Tatjana is specialised in all aspects of German and European competition law. Tatjana has many years of experience acting for plaintiffs and defendants in damages claims under competition law, both in court and out of court. She defends clients in cartel investigations of the German Federal Cartel Office and the European Commission and represents her clients before the courts. Tatjana also regularly advises clients in German and multinational merger control cases. Furthermore, she advises clients with respect to supply and distribution systems, joint ventures, commercial cooperation agreements, and all other aspects of compliance.
Her clients include leading industrial firms, private equity firms, numerous small and medium-sized enterprises as well as professional associations. Firms from the pharmaceuticals and health sectors, in particular, benefit from Tatjana’s advice in healthcare competition law.
Tatjana is a member of the German Competition Law Association (Studienvereinigung Kartellrecht e.V.), the Competition Law Forum Munich (Kartellrechtsforum München e.V.) and the German Women Lawyers’ Association (Deutsche Juristinnenbund e.V.).
She has professional proficiency in the languages of German and English.
Tatjana Mühlbach studied Law at the University of Hamburg. She worked in academic research at the Max Planck Institute for Comparative and International Private Law, Hamburg; the University of Oldenburg, Lower Saxony; and the University of Bordeaux, France, as well as at the College of Europe in Hamburg. She was awarded Doctor of Laws in 2006. Between 2007 and 2011, Tatjana worked at the EU and competition law practice of SJ Berwin LLP (Munich). From 2011 to 2016, she was part of the team founding the Antitrust & Competition practice of Milbank, Tweed, Hadley & McCloy LLP (Munich). Since 2016, she has been a partner at BUNTSCHECK.
