Marlene is an associate in the Labor, Social Security and Immigration Pracice Area. She is specialized in Labor Law and Social Security, Labor Procedural Law and Immigration. In addition, Marlene is specialized in Gender and Public Policy; she is one of the few labor specialists with this sub-specialization.
She has significant experience in providing counsel on structuring personnel compensation plans, hiring of expatriates and immigration system, downsizing, employment audits, and administrative procedures in labor and aviation matters. Marlene has led in the field important labor audits to companies in the mining sector, which has allowed her to know in depth the activities of our clients; likewise, Marlene has successfully been in charge of labor administrative procedures of great relevance and has also been responsible of complex sexual harassment investigation processes.
Marlene’s double specialization in labor law and gender allows her to occasionally collaborate as a consultant of the Women’s Affairs and Vulnerable Populations Ministry in aspects related to the development of entrepreneurial and productive activities of women, having participated in several meetings with members of different international organizations to this end.
Her professional career has been featured by a prestigious international publication, Chambers & Partners, which have recognized her as an ‘Associates to Watch’ for labor area.
Finally, as to academics, Marlene participates as guest lecturer in Labor Law courses at the Pontificia Universidad Católica del Peru, where she intervenes in subjects related to sexual and psychological harassment at work, labor leaves and discrimination. Marlene has also participated as lecturer in national conferences in labor matters and is the author of specialized articles about Labor Law, which have been published both in Peru and abroad.
