Pritha has extensive specialist experience in private equity transactions and in mergers and acquisitions specifically in the advertising, manufacturing and financial services space.
Pritha is also heads the startup practice for DSK Legal which involves representing startups, venture capital funds, and angel investors.
Pritha advises various large corporate and private equity funds on diverse issues. Her clients include TA Associates, True North, Gaja Capital, DIC Corporation, Airbnb and Dentsu Aegis Network.
The RSG India Report of 2015 recommended Pritha for private equity and negotiations. The RSG India Report of 2017 also recommended Pritha for mergers and acquisitions. In 2018, Pritha was awarded the Legal Era “40 under 40” award as a rising star in the legal fraternity in India.
Pritha regularly advises advertising agencies and portfolio companies of private equity funds in their day to day operations, commercial contracts, pre-dispute situations, foreign investment and compliance related matters while they are in their growth phase.
Pritha has been involved on some of the largest acquisitions in the advertising space. These include the acquisitions of Law & Kenneth, Sokrati – Merkle, Happy, Fractal Ink, SVG Group and Perfect Relations.
Pritha also publishes the monthly startup newsletter “the Prodigy” and the advertising newsletter “the agency”.
In her spare time, Pritha spends her time travelling and also has her own travel blog and website by the name TravelJetter.
Chandrima has over 10 years of experience as a media and entertainment lawyer with substantial in-house legal counsel experience in leadership role. She has been with the firm since 2013.
Chandrima has been involved projects covering various verticals of media and entertainment practice including:
• Development of content: advising and negotiating deals for acquisition of pre-existing copyright works, including books, films, plays, for adaptation into other formats;
• Production: Acting in commercial-legal role for advising, structuring and negotiating deals across various film production models;
• Acquisition: Documentation and negotiation for acquisition of film properties (completed and under production);
• Revenue and Syndication: Documentation and negotiation for domestic and international film distribution across platforms (traditional and new media) in established and emerging markets. While at Disney-UTV, India she also concentrated on Disney Media Distribution for the distribution of Disney properties (films, television and animation) for television and new media platforms in the Indian subcontinent;
• Music: Advising and negotiating, licensing and distribution of music content of the films, through various physical media and digital platforms;
• IP Rights management for monetization of IP;
• Talent engagements: Acting in commercial-legal role for documentation and negotiation for engagement of some of the leading acting talent in India for their brand endorsements, films, television reality shows as hosts and participants;
• Due diligence: advising on script and content clearances including conducting due diligences for ascertaining IP ownerships and issues.
